Why We Use US-Grown Organic Cotton

We believe great garments start with great fibre—and for us, that means using 100% cotton fibre, organically grown in the United States.

We proudly source the organic cotton fibre for our premium heritage baseball tees from the Texas Organic Cotton Marketing Cooperative (TOCMC), a farmer-owned collective based in Lubbock, Texas. Since 1993, TOCMC has been a pioneer in organic cotton production in the USA, setting the standard for quality, sustainability, and traceability.

Grown in the Heart of the World’s Largest Cotton Patch

The South Plains region of Texas, often called “the world’s largest cotton patch”, offers ideal conditions for growing organic cotton. With cold winters and long, sunny days, it naturally provides a great environment for organic farming. Each year, TOCMC’s ~35 producer-members plant 17,000–20,000 acres of certified organic and transitional cotton, resulting in up to 17,000 bales of fibre. Many of these farms use little to no irrigation, relying instead on rainfall.

We Know Where it’s Grown

As a premium essentials brand, we want to offer excellent quality and work with the best suppliers. Every bale of cotton purchased from TOCMC is fully traceable back to the farm that produced the fibre that ends up in your heritage-quality tee. TOCMC is certified under both the USDA National Organic Program (NOP) and the Global Organic Textile Standard (GOTS), the latter being the most respected standard in the textile industry.

Quality You Can Feel

Unlike conventional mass-produced cotton, TOCMC’s cooperative model rewards its growers for producing high quality fibre. This results in stronger, softer organic cotton—the kind that wears beautifully over time. It’s one of the key reasons our baseball tees feel so good and last so long. Even with natural variables like rainfall and soil conditions, TOCMC farmers consistently produce some of the highest-quality organic cotton grown in the United States.

Resilient Organic Farming Systems

Many of TOCMC’s members also grow other certified organic crops such as peanuts, wheat, corn, sorghum, soybeans, and sesame. Even the byproducts—like cottonseed—are repurposed as organic feed for dairies, ensuring nothing goes to waste.
