Saying Goodbye To Places

I used to walk down the dusty road to the secluded beach on a hot day. I used to lie in the hammock between the two pines. I used to watch the sunrise up the hill by the modern white houses. I used to get ice cream from the place in the bustling little town. Friends, faces, sounds, music, the pool, the glistening sea, the food, the smells, the late night dinners, the laughter, the playing, the secrets, the flirts, the unmentioned thoughts and longings. I had to say good bye to this place. But inside I didn’t. It stayed with me all along and comes back to me whenever I need it to. ALL MEMORIES ARE YOURS TO KEEP.
